My Working Plan
One of my weak points with anything that I do, is that I never really sit down and write out a plan. I’m kind of jump into things and see where they lead me, but being nearly $18,500 in debt, you have to stop and think that if you always do what you’ve always done, then you’ll always get what you’ve always got! Time to do things differently!
I sat down this morning and wrote out what I wanted to achieve! I costed it up, roughed out a time scale and looked at it for a good ten minutes before I knew I wasn’t entirely happy. Reading it back, I kind of realised that I had in fact planned out for where I wanted to be in six months time, I had not planned out how I intended to arrive at my six month destination.
I put that plan aside and went back to work. I worked out month by month what I wanted to achieve, then I broke it down to what I wanted to achieve within each fortnight and then finally right back down to each week. I had a plan. It was flexible, it had room for failures and successes and for the first time I felt like I had a blue print to referr to when things got rocky.
I cannot stress this enough. If you want to achieve anything in life, get yourself a plan. Even if that plan is not written down, you should have one because when stuff happens, and it will when you’re trying new things, you need something to fall back on.
Plus, it’s the grown up thing to do, I believe!
